  Never take a car from Avis/Budget on Malta. Rude people, old cars, in bad tecnical condition. Not only did we get a broken car with an open steering wheel column and they refused to fix it, one of the workers grabbed my phone and we had to go to the police to get it back.

  Well situated, however they don't stock cars for walk ins, you have to go to the airport for that or call them to make sure first

  I would give 0 stars if I could. I bought a resevation online to pick up a car at Avis Msida through Edreams. When I got there, I had all my documentation including a valid Credit Card. The woman at the desk asked me for my PIN number. I couldn't remember it because I have never had to use it renting cars or booking flights - and that's the only thing I use my credit card for. The way I've always seen it done is they just take the details, credit the deposit and I sign the contract. A colleague of the woman attending me came in several times to tell her she processed everything without needing any clients' pin numbers and worked in that way everyday. She would even easily show her how to do it, but the lady who was dealing with me would have none of it. When I asked if I could then leave the deposit (1000 euros) with my debit card, she started talking about processing "a buy". I told her I wasn't buying anything and that I would of course have to be presented a contract stating I was merely making a safety deposit. She would not give one to me - said it didn't exist and that I should just trust them. All through this by the way, the woman was extremely rude and condescending in tone with me. I asked to speak to the manager several times. He never bothered to come. Then, when I told her I would be leaving because I was wasting precious hours of my holiday and was worried about how I would now get to other itinerary points, the woman told me I was the one who would have to cancel the booking. I said that obviously made no sense for I had presented myself on time and with valid documents, so I would not be charged with having canceled anything. Another guy from the company came up to the counter later and told me not to worry and that all I had to do was send an email to customer service and that they would refund me. I sent an email the same day. Customer service didn't answer me. I had to call them and spend money doing so to remind them of my situation, just to a few days later finally receive a reply stating the law affirmed I had to knoe my Credit Card PIN number and so would not refund me. I replied stating that was a lie because I had rented another vehicle without my PIN number and the deposit was made. I even checked on my net banking account. She then replied saying only Edreams could refund me. So, they lied to me, have tried to steal my money for no service given, as well as set back my holiday plans and itinerary considerably. I had to catch a bunch of taxis and spend a lot more and with less freedom. Also, I must ad that customer service representant, Alexia Mirabelli, was likewise very rude and uncaring. This is all unprofessionalism at best and plain thievery and corruption at worst. I am still being made to fight for my refund when they know perfectly well I never used the service I paid for. Horrible company and people. Avoid.
