Gorgeous natural limestone spread along the west coast. Beautiful sunsets. It is rather unlikely to swim there as the stones are a bit higher than the water, and climbing back up might prove difficult. Yet there is a set of steps carved into the rock that lead directly into the water. To reach Blata Tal Mel you have a few options, none of which is immediate. You could take the long path from Migra Ferha, walking almost flatly toward north. About one hour later you'd reach your destination. You can walk all the way to the sharp cut into the land where the waves can be pretty strong. From there, crossing to the other side could be dangerous although I've done it several times. It is possible to climb up and around it to reach "the other side" which is the north side leading to your second option: Fomm ir-Rih. From Bahrija, drive or walk down toward Fomm ir-Rih and reach che parking lot near the prehistoric ruins. Walk down south, and you'll find the same type of flat limestone pavement that will lead you all the way down to Blata tal Mel from the north. A third option would be to come around from the Permaculture Foundation and find your way down toward the sea. I've done that too, and it's not my favourite. Yet I like to experiment different routes. Start this walk planning to be out for several hours; so, make sure you have water, food and sunscreen, no matter what month of the year. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS on a misty or rainy day: it would NOT be fun as you are completelly stranded for quite a long hike. If you have scuba equipment and can carry it all the way, I'm sure Blata tal Mel will be a great place to swim around in the deep.
