  There is no other way to describe this building than as a masterpiece! Thank goodness that money could once get you closer to heaven because otherwise, such splendour could never have been achieved! Everything about it is lavish! The audio guide is in depth and very thorough with the details of each spectacle your eyes connect with

  St John’s Co-Cathedral is a gem of Baroque art and architecture. It was built as the conventual church for the Knights of St John. The Grand Masters and several knights donated gifts of high artistic value and made enormous contributions to enrich it with only the best works of art.  This church is till this very day an important shrine and a sacred place of worship. It is also a venue for cultural events.

  If you don't do anything else while in Valletta but walk around and take in the magical city, you must visit the Co-Cathedral of St John the Baptist. It is one of the elaborately decorated and beautiful churches I have ever been in, rivaling St. Peters in Rome. There is an admission fee to visit as a tourist, but the funds are used to help maintain the build and the fantastic works of art.

  A must see. The cathedral offers an overwhelmingly decorated experience with lots of gold and outstanding baroque imagery. - Having to pay 10 euros to get in is not acceptable. Take Notre-Dame as an example, completely free. Want to see the Museum? Pay 6€. - no free movement in the ship - floor plates are partly covered - the Italian chapel completely blocked by a replica of the Shroud of Turin - Who had the idea of renovating the Grandmasters crypt and the Museum in 2018?

  Without a doubt the most impressive Cathedral I've ever seen. When first entering it seems the interior is "simply" richly decorated with marble, statues and gold ornaments. But after following the exquisite, and complementary, audio tour it becomes that every chapel, every ornament even, has been placed with meaning. The decorations are carefully thought through and refer to the many grand masters of the Knights order that have ruled throughout the centuries. There's an impressive amount of detail and history tukked away in this grandiose place of worship. Definitely a must see when visiting Valletta.
