1 star due to poor service. My elderly father arrived, and could not access the room, which was on the first floor via a small/steep staircase (there is no lift). When we asked about another room, we waited over half an hour, and still wasn't told if one would be made available. We had to book somewhere else, but were charged for the room, and they would not refund the monies.

The area around it seems pretty bland and crumbling, but that completely changes when you walk in. It's very comfortable and pleasant inside, with nice modern conveniences over top solid stone. Hopefully it gives an idea of what the typical houses in Tarxien are underneath.

The worst hotel I have never been. Insulting expensive for a narrow room (only space for the bed) without bathroom, and only can be used a public toilet without shower....

Very nice breakfast with teas, coffee maker, croissants, a selection of hams and cheeses as well as cereals (museli and cornflakes) and toasr though not enough room for all guests to sit in the dining area. However, upon arrival I was not greeted and instead the guy simply said " you wait I need to wait for bookings to come through". It was already 2 hours after most hotels let you check in. Me and another 2 guests then stood waiting for 30 minutes while the guy played on his phone. The house overall was cosy and old and very nice to live in. However, for guests the bedroom was tiny and you could barely move. However, there was Wifi and air conditioning. The bathroom was unacceptably small. It was just a cupboard under the stairs which all guests appear to share (from the long queues to use it). It would've been too small to shower in but this was not an issue as there was not any hot water anyway so noone could shower. But even using the toliet was not very private with a window through to the living area that kept opening. They provide a bar, which is needed as very few ammenitites nearby. However, they charge €1 for a 500ml bottle of water when a 2 litre bottle of water costs 60 cents in shops. I do not expect luxury, and this place was fine for me. I am a guy who is used to staying in hostels etc. What I object to is that it cost €110 for 2 nights, a price that is greater than that of the 3 star hotel I stayed at in Sliema. (Sorry for the poor bedroom picture, the room was too small to take one of it. The bathroom one is taken from outside the bathroom door)

Very dark rooms with almost no ventilation and tiny windows. Beware of the basement room as your toilet will be shared and you'll hear every sound coming from it.
