  We had take-aways; I had noodles with chicken and my husband had oyster beef with egg-fried rice and we had some apple fritters to share for dessert. The food was excellent and the restaurant has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely visit again. 👍

  There were three of us we all had starters and a main course and two bottles of wine between us. There was also a side order of vegetables. The bill came to 62 euros. For what we had it was excellent value, not forgetting that the meal was excellent in itself. Being picky our very good local white wine could have been cooler, but overall it was an excellent meal which was also very cheap.

  Reviews coming from a Chinese I recently came to Malta and had moments where I was craving for home food, by chance, I found Ni Hao near where I was staying in Marsalforn, Gozo with a few friends. To be honest, it looked a bit dingy on the outside and I didn't think it would be good, but there weren't a lot of choices so we all went and tried. Boy I was so wrong. The interior of the restaurant was a bit dim and wasn't glamorous , but everything was clean and tidy, and that is all I really need. The restaurant turns out to be ran by a Chinese family that immigrated, with the husband (and most likely the cook, a local si chuan chinese). *Note* Sichuan is known for the spicy food. She spoke to me in mandarin and was accommodating enough to prepared the food as we requested (I asked if she could have it cooked as authentic as possible). There was 8 of us and she cooked as a big plate of noodles and fried rice instead of requiring us to order individual bowls. Orders: Half Peking duck with pancakes, vegetables, fish, mapo tofu, fried noodles, egg fried rice, steam dumplings.. (8 dishes) Food quality: Rice and noodles were a bit bland. Vegetables were simple but the taste was lovely (the home cook food sort of comforting), I had better peking duck and pancakes but it was still good, my friends loved it. The best was the fish and mapo tofu. It was so fragrant and well cooked the flesh simply fell off the bone and the sauce was so well seasoned that my friend ask them to pack the sauce to be taken away. Mapo tofu was the same. They used herbs and spices sent in freshly every fortnight from China, and recipes that was passed down in their family. Lovely place to have a dinner, will definitely be back. Oh, it is also possible for them to arrange hot pot if you call them a day or two earlier (since they have to cook the broth - stewed for hours, and prepare the ingredients). Price: for all that, it was around 8 euros per person between the 6 of us. 5 stars xx
