::The VBL is a company that is answering to a strong demand for more modern accommodations in Valletta. I stayed at three of their properties, including the hostel, and I would highly recommend that anybody unfamiliar with Malta stay in one of their rentals. The staff is not only professional, they are also helpful and personable, and they care about people having a pleasant stay in this confusing city. I was in a bind and they listened to me and worked me work it out. Highly recommended.

::We stayed here for 3 nights and we liked it. Modern interior. Clean. Quiet.

::Scam! Be aware they charge extra €50 after your total bill for 'cleaning' fee!!

::The hostel is awful, dirty kitchen, bathrooms, cockroaches everywhere, no AC, outside the hostel street with heavy traffic in the morning, cars honking. The bed is on one of the three floors, no doors between so everybody goes through your room. One night there was no electricity in the city so we couldn't go in the hostel, because you don't get any key, you open the door only entering the code at the door, there's no one from the staff at the place. you have to pay for everything: adapter, locker, towel. Ridiculous! Pay more money and go somewhere else!

::Where to start... I will simply add that some services which are considered basic and free in other accommodation services, here are charged (baggage hold, shampoos, hairdryer) ! The bed was squeaky and faulty (one wooden stake was missing and was replaced by using the next one in a diagonal way!), one of the balconies had no window and we could hear everything outside; to a add here that the area is very noise with road works, cars passing by and church tolls all day round and the room is very poor soundproof-wise. Also, there was no coffee machine but one was installed 2 days within our visit - with one day left - and we were informed of the entry of the person in our room to install it after it had taken place, not before... Last But not least, the person who was tasked with late night assistance (we had informed of a late-night arrival) was annoyed that we called him so late ; to add once more here that the Google maps link to the house provided in their email gave about 5 different addresses all over the island.
