This ‘curry house’ is terrible! Don’t go there if you value good and proper desi food! The food was all entirely lacking in flavour, the ‘butter chicken’ that we ordered was just a tikka masala (and the waitresses tried to make it seem as though they were the same thing), the lamb was chewy. When my husband (who is Pakistani) asked for some green chilli or something to add flavour, they said ‘they didn’t have any fresh chillis at all in the restaurant’. Absolutely abysmal. Also, it was horrifically expensive.

Well...there was an incident of a fire alarm going off because of the steam from the food. When making a mistake when punching in one if the dishes ordered, the waitress told us the wrong dish would be on the house, and then another waitress came to take it away...confusing I know. Otherwise food was lovely!

This is the usual place I go to eat here in Malta. Food is really nice, I have worked in an Indian restaurant for almost three years and the taste in Shakinah is really close to the one I'm used to. It's a tiny restaurant, but from my experience in Malta those are the good places to visit because they care more about the quality of the products. We spoke to one of the chefs, and to the owner as well and the seasonings are from India directly. Staff are also nice, but was better when the Serbian girl and guy were there. Also prices are very good. Just the naan bread is a bit expensive in my opinion.

Absolutely lovely experience! Dare I say the best Indian food in Malta. The Tika Masala and mint Chicken were amazing! Nan bread was super soft ! Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful! The ambiance is great however at times it feels a bit stuffy. Will definitely be back for more!

We visited this place twice. Loved the food at the first time. On the second time it was just about good. The staff is very nice. The ambience is a bit too dark. The sizzling brownie was bit of a joke.. No where close to how it's in India and doesn't justify it's price at all
