  These stores are great because they are open long hours and can be found all over the Island. The one in Marsaskala, where I live, is well stocked and offers a variety of items to cover all essentials. They even offer freshly baked bread at certain times. My only complaint is that although there is a well stocked pre-packed cheese and cold meats fridge, the cheese counter is usually unattended and that one must often ask one of the staff for service or remain waiting at the counter for some time before anyone bothers to serve you. I prefer buying cheeses and deli meats from the counter and so have often given up on waiting and left the store without buying anything. I've noticed that the staff, who are often busy stacking shelves, manning the cash register or dealing with suppliers, do not seem to freely offer assistance unless asked. On many occasions, they seem more engrossed in conversation or smoking and texting out side of the shop instead of making sure customers are assisted. So apart from the long opening hours where one can pop in for something small, the service leaves much to be desired and plenty of room for improvement.
