::The setting and location are wonderful and truly hard to beat. The service was not the most attentive and very slowly paced. The food preparation was solid, but the menu itself seemed too old/old-school in this day (Nov. 2017 when we dined). The best things were the amuse bouche and starters. The mains seemed predictable and played-out.

::I give bad reviews only with heavy heart and this was my own experience, I'm sure others will be incredibly happy with the restaurant. After a few times of waiters ignoring us at the door, we were finally seated. I assume it started when we (politely) declined to order wine and only had water instead. It took a very long time, around 50 minutes until our mains arrived and it was particularly frustrating to see guests arriving 20 minutes after us and then receiving their mains pretty much immediately. However, I understand the kitchen can get very busy and at a restaurant like this, you want to serve your customers the best food. A word of apology or anything similar would have been nice though. Again, we politely declined any desserts or drinks. When we finished, we immediately asked for the bill and when presented, we were charged with a fee of 7.50 Euro that is to be paid when a customer gets a starter or pasta only; this was specified on the menu. However, I did have both and my partner had a main course without a starter and in this case should not have been charged (it was not specified in the menu or I didn't see it). We didn't want to make a fuss and paid anyways and considered it as our tip. The most frustrating part which we felt like was our entire evening was to wait for a waiter to notice us. At a restaurant like this you expect the waiter to come to you - especially after you just asked for the bill. No one seemed to care and no one paid attention to us. We felt that the head waiter of the restaurant treated us very, very different in comparison to the other customers. Was it because we didn't order wine? Did not spend as much money as other fine dining customers would do? Maybe I misunderstood things but unfortunately for me, the service was inadequate and I felt I wasn't treated as a welcomed customer.
