::Useful visualisation of Malta's dynamic and traumatic history, helps to put our visit to the island in perspective. The video is more a (well-narrated) animated slide show than a video/movie, but tells the story well. Sadly, many headsets, which offer narrating in 20 languages, were not working or offering only mono sounds. The tour afterwards through the old hospital halls is very Interesting and extends the experience to 1.5 hours. If, considering this, the entrance fee at 16 Euro is high, that is a personal decision. However, I'd recommend you get a 10% discount voucher from the Tourist Information Centre first. Every little helps. And it offers (very strong) air-conditioning cooling, welcoming during a hot afternoon to give your legs a rest whilst your body cools down. Good vantage point as well across the harbour.

::Great and informative - the show is all I could have asked for!! Well worth it if you don't have the time or desire to go around and learn bits and pieces of Maltese history. It's a perfect nugget to give you an upper hand in the next pub quiz, while not boring your teenage child to death. Would recommend! The only reason it's not a 5 is the second part of the experience - the hospital is not that spectacular, there's no imitations and its just an empty halway with not-the-most-entertaining guide - we left midway. But again, the show is top class.

::The film is very informative but rather old I think. It could do with being updated. As part of the ticket there is a guided tour of the old hospital wards after the film. Striking to see but we could have seen them in half the time!

::The Malta Experience Is Malta's Premier Tourist Attraction. Discover the turbulent and inspiring history of the Maltese Islands with this unique and informative audio-visual tour that combines a 45-minute historical documentary show and a 30-minute visit of La Sacra Infermeria, an old hospital built by the Knights of St. John. This tour is an ideal first stop for visitors who wish to discover the Maltese Islands and step back in time to relive Malta's history. The attraction is open daily including Saturdays and Sunday (from 11:00 AM every hour), and the cafe and souvenir shop are open daily.

::A must to visit on a first visit to Malta. It gives you a perfect overview of the history of the island and the people of Malta. Lasts 45 mins, plus a 30 min guided tour of the infirmary of the Knights of St John. Really interesting.
